The Vee, Clogheen

The Vee carves its way through the picturesque the Knockmealdown mountains of Waterford and Tipperary. Officially designated the R668, it conects Clogheen to Lismore and is well worth seeking out, particularly for the scenery in all directions.
It is a great cycle, approximately 30kms from Clonmel to the summit, with the climb taking about 8kms from Clogheen village. If it is raining at the top, you can shelter in the stone house! If not, the scenery on the descent is magnificent.

While plenty of houses in the Clogheen/Ardfinnan area are oriented towards The Vee, there are no houses on it's upper reaches, planning restrictions rightly forbidding them. There are however a number of local residents!
